Ideas For Jungle Themed Teen Bedrooms

By Sherrie Le Masurier

jungle themes for teen bedrooms Do you have any wild ideas for jungle themed teen bedrooms?

teen jungle themed bedrooms A Jungle themed teen bedrooms are ideal for teens looking to express their bold and creative side.

Animal prints are one of the best places to look for some inspiration. First decide on a main animal print like zebra, cheetah, leopard, tiger and giraffe and then complement it with faux fur fabrics and/or one or two other animal prints.

Another great way to bring your jungle themed teen bedroom together is to accessorize your one main print with contrasting or complementary solid colors.

Note however that using too many different prints in the same room can be overwhelming.

When it comes to jungle themed teen bedrooms you can really express your individual side by the fabric you select. Animal prints come in fabrics like satin, cotton, silk and mixed blends.

Due to the popularity of jungle themed teen bedrooms you’ll find both of a variety of prints and fabrics as well as a vast range in price. You don’t have to spend a lot to have a wild looking jungle room. Some linen companies also offer great deals on bed-in-a-bag animal print bedding which can be ideal for those on a small budget.

When selecting printed bedding fabrics make sure they are machine washable and heed care instructions so they don’t prematurely fade e.g. wash in cold instead of hot water and hang to dry instead of throwing in a hot dryer.

What about paint color? Curry, tan or mocha are among my favorite color selections for jungle themed teen bedrooms. To locate a color that works best for your selected animal print(s) click here, select ‘color visualizer’ then ‘launch color visualizer’.

Another wall treatment option is painting your teen bedroom walls a creamy beige color and then topping it with a jungle themed or animal print border. Or you could paint three walls one color and then paint or install a ready-made mural on the fourth wall.

Wildlife posters and animal wall stickers are also a great way to decorate your walls.

As for furniture, consider adorning your dresser with animal print knobs or creating a cool headboard by stapling on some faux fur or paint on an animal print using a stencil. If you have a bookcase, consider trimming it with bamboo (available at most garden or home centres). Split the bamboo lengthwise and affix with wood glue. Another idea would be to cover your bookcase with grass-cloth wallpaper and then edge the shelves with artificial vines (available in most dollar stores).

Use bamboo or straw blinds on your window and wooden beaded curtains on your closet.

Since jungle themed teen bedrooms are popular you’ll also find a great selection of décor items to bring the look of your jungle room together.

Some of my favorite decor accessories for jungle themed teen bedrooms include throw pillow, rugs, and lampshades.

Jungle themed teen bedrooms should not be without a tropical plant or two. They don’t have to be real though – plastic and silk ones also work well.
